FNaF 2

The FNaF 2's story adds on a lot of information to the series. To start, from what we know, this game takes place in 1987. We know because the paycheck you receive at the very end has the year 1987 on it. This confused a lot of fans because we were all expecting a sequel, but instead FNaF 2 was a prequel. The evidence is plain, Phone Guy is still alive in the second game when he died in the first. Also, he mentions in the first game the 'Bite of '87' and how the animatronics used to walk around. Well, in FNaF 2, Phone Guy says that the robots can currently walk around during the day. Coincidence? I think not. Now, moving on to the Death Mini-games. So basically, after getting jump-scared in the second game, there's a random chance that you may get a mini-game. These games have you control either Freddy, Foxy or The Puppet. In one of the mini-games called SAVETHEM, You control Freddy as you walk around the pizzeria following The Puppet. On rare occasions, The Purple Guy will appear and chase you down. When this happens the game goes to blue static and the words 'you can't' appear at the bottom of the screen. The mysterious Purple Guy that you encounter in this mini-game, is wildly speculated to be the killer of the children mentioned in the first game... and the Phone Guy. While this was a popular theory for a while, it was finally debunked by Scott the creator, Purple Guy isn't Phone Guy. Anyway, the next mini-game you might encounter is called Give Gifts, Give Life. This mini-game has you control The Puppet as you go around a room giving four presents to four kids. After completing this, you (The Puppet) must go around the room a second time, but instead putting the masks of the four main animatonics (Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy) on the kids. Upon doing this, you then get jump-scared by Golden Freddy, thus returning you to the menu. This game was thought to have been The Puppet putting the dead children into the animatronic suits, making the robots 'haunted.' This theory was never really proven or disproved. The third mini-game called 'Give Cake to the Children,' has you once again control Freddy, as you go around a small building giving cake to kids. While doing so however, there is one kid outside the building crying. After doing this repeatedly, a purple car drives up behind the crying kid, and the Purple Guy comes out of the car. You then see the kid crying harder, then after a couple seconds the kid turns completely gray. The Purple Guy then goes back in the car and drives away. The mini-game ends with The Puppet's jump-scare. The theory for this one, was that the crying kid that the Purple Guy killed went on to haunt the Puppet, as his jump-scare plays at the end. Again this was never proven or disproved. The fourth and final mini-game you may run into, is an unnamed Foxy game. In this one, you play as Foxy behind the curtains of Pirate Cove. At the top of the screen are the words Go! Go! Go! As Foxy proceeds to run out of Pirate Cove and into a room next to his. In this other room, a whole group of kids cheer and confetti appears as Foxy enters. After doing this, you must repeat the exact same thing as before, The third time however, as Foxy leaves to go into the other room, Purple Guy is by Pirate Cove, smiling. Upon entering the room with the kids, they all appear gray and dead. The mini-game ends with Foxy's jump-scare. Now, while the information given in these mini-games is quite vague, they do give some major clues to the over-all plot. We know now that the Purple Guy is the killer, and that the animatronics are haunted by his victims. Speculation and theories are always floating around, about the mini-game's true story and purpose. Now, I'll talk about one last important aspect of the game, the timeline. So as I said before, this is indeed a prequel in the series, the first game's location is after this on the timeline. Phone Guy also mentions a 'previous location' before the current restaurant. Meaning, so far, that there has been three known Freddy Fazbear's Pizza places. BUT! Phone Guy also mentioned one other restaurant called 'Fredbear's Family Diner.' He said that this was the original restaurant, and that it has been closed 'for years.' So let's just put this in perspective-

FNaF 1-Freddy Fazbear's Pizza -NEWEST LOCATION-

FNaF 2-Freddy Fazbear's Pizza -1987 LOCATION-

Freddy Fazbear's Pizza -PREVIOUS LOCATION-

Fredbear's Family Diner -ORIGINAL LOCATION-

There's just a rough time-line of all the locations (It goes in order from newest to oldest.) So anyway, the story is continued even further on the 'FNaF 3' link below the logo. Click there for more lore and story!
