FNaF 3

The Five Nights at Freddy's 3 story focuses on a completely different angle in the series plot. What do I mean by that? Well, for one thing, it takes place 30 years after the events of FNaF 1. That means the place obviously looks a lot different. As for the story, there's only one animatronic, Springtrap. Who is Springtrap though? He's Bonnie, but not just Bonnie, he's Spring-Bonnie. Throughout the entire game, old recordings of Phone Guy are informing you of how to properly use a Spring lock suit. The spring lock suits in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza could supposedly double as both animatronic and suit. This means that a person could go inside the suit and walk around without getting killed, if that makes sense. Phone Guy also states however, that there was a 'Spring-lock failure.' So, someone clearly misused the suit. To explain what I mean in details, I'll have to briefly talk about the mini-games. So, in the third game, the mini-games return, but this time you don't get them by chance, you get them after each night. After completing night 1, you control Freddy in the mini-game, as you follow a purple version of Freddy, dubbed Shadow Freddy. In the corner of the screen are the words 'follow me.' You then come to a room where you try to enter but the letters 'ERR' appear or, error (you can't enter the room.) As Freddy tries to walk away from the room, the Purple Guy runs up to Freddy and completely dismantles him. You're left on the floor as a mess of parts. Then after finishing night two, you repeat the same process playing as Bonnie. Completing night 3 has you play as Chica, night 4 as Foxy. Then finally after Night 5, you play as a spirit of a dead kid. You walk into the room where the animatronics couldn't enter, to see four other spirits, and the Purple Guy. I'll post all of the mini-games below, so you can see what happens instead of me explaining. Those aren't all the mini-games though, there's a couple extra ones as well that tell more story. Again, I'll just briefly explain their story. Playing as Balloon Boy, Mangle, Toy Chica, Fredbear and Shadow Bonnie. You must give cake to five dead kids. On night five, (if you have given all the cake to the children) you'll unlock a mini-game titled 'Happiest Day,' where you see all six kids (including the Puppet) being 'freed' from haunting the animatronic suits. I know it probably doesn't make much sense when I write it out, hopefully it'll make more when you watch it. Anyway, changing the topic a bit, I just want to explain in more details about who Springtrap really is. So, remember in the second game when I mentioned Phone Guy talking about a previous restaurant called Fredbear's Family Diner? This was the very first restaurant where the story first began. So this place really only had two animatronics, Freddy and Bonnie. They weren't called Freddy and Bonnie though, they were called Fredbear and Spring-Bonnie. This means that Springtrap, is from the very first known location in the FNaF universe. Which would explain how ripped up and old he looks, but why the name... Springtrap? Well, going back to the whole Spring-lock suit thing. Apparently while wearing one of these suits, there's a 'spring lock' inside of them. You must avoid breathing on it or else it will snap shut and you'll practically bleed to death in there. This aspect was very important at the end of the minigames as you'll see. One very last thing I wanted to touch up on, the end of the game. When completing Nightmare Mode (Night 6) you see a newspaper clipping saying that Fazbear's Fright (where FNaF 3 takes place) burned down over-night. This means that next to everything in the building is now gone. There is one theory though, that the Phantom animatronics (which are hallucinations throughout the game) survived the fire, as well as Springtrap. One piece of evidence to support this is how burnt the phantom animatronics look. It's quite possible that some things did survive the fire. To wrap this whole thing up, I guess I'll just say that this game's story pretty much tells the end of the series. Of course it wasn't the last game, but it was the only true sequel in the series that showed what happened to the dead kids and the Purple Guy.
